'Meen' by Yungsta
Meen is a debut alb of Yungsta with production of Sez on the beat which shows a glimpse into Yungsta's life, journey and challenges. A beautiful artwork with a personal touch featuring his family, girlfriend and his friends. It also got two fishes flying over Yungsta symbolizing MEEN or Pisces. The album follows the 3H model i.e. Head, Heart, Hand.
ACT I: HEAD
1) Ruhbaru
As a debut album, Yungsta started with his proper introduction, his rap career, his family and his educational background. Visuals of this track are enough to express this song's emotion in one go. It feels like an autobiography is starting. A small conversation between Yungsta and his father gives a personal touch to this track. Love the hook of this track. A brilliant start to the album creating higher expectations from this album.
2) Dilli
A pure vibey song in collab with Calm and Frappe Ash. Sez shows his magic in production. This song shows their relationship with Delhi. The back and forth by Yungsta, Frappe and Calm is top-notch. A Full Power song.
3) Sansani
Album took a darker turn from this track. This track point fingers toward Media and politics and give us a reality check. Sez shows his Tabla supremacy again in this track. Love his flow.
4) Sukoon
My favourite track with a beautiful hook. Headbanging beats with sad lyrics about finding mental peace. " Dhundoo Sukoon kahaan mai " hits hard. A must listen from the album.
5) Nascar/ Needs
This track can make you feel the pain of mental trauma, anxiety, drug addiction and self-harm through this track. beautiful portraying of what goes in his mind at his lowest times by comparing his unstable mind with Nascar. "Hip-hop saved my life" makes us feel the importance of it in his life. A deep thought track.
ACT II: HEART
6) Homecoming Interlude
A light-hearted interlude shifts from head to heart which makes us smile and give us hope to dream big after a deep thought and dark song like Nascar/Needs. AK intro gives us hope to look at our good deeds and hopes toward us in our lowest times. And a beautiful way to thank his team and friends.
7) Jeena Isi Ka Naam
A filmy and light-hearted song to motivate us to live a beautiful life-like its hook. AK pours her magic with his backing vocals. A feeling of Sukoon from this song.
8) Savera
A beautiful track with mad relatable verse by Yashraj. Yashraj took this one. Lovely production.
ACT III: HAND
9) N.L.I.T.I
N.L.I.T.I aka No Love In The Industry is about being cheated by music label and having no more faith in music label and the industry. One of the best tracks on the album.
10) Totka
Ikka overshadowed this track with his unique way of rapping. Even his cursing is memorable and funny. The hook of this track is magic or black magic.
11) Hona Hi Tha
The last track of the album with full flexy and a happy vibe about their achievements. Encore ABJ took shots at Bollywood hip-hop being repetitive and Raga shows a glimpse of their journey. Ending the song with a happy and catchy hook.
The album ends with Frappe Ash saying about their achievements but still a long journey to go.
Talking about the features, Encore ABJ and Yashraj were my top features in this album. This is not just Yungsta's but even Sez's best work. But still, this album cannot touch the top level and feel incomplete as their work like Mehfil or maybe I was expecting more from them.
